Wyoming Niobrara Companies – Who’s Who

The following links  provide specific information to Who’s Who in the Niobrara Energy Play.

Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission – The Commission is the state agency responsible for permitting and monitoring oil and gas activity in Wyoming.  This link includes a lot of data as well as Wyoming well coordinates, production data, permit approvals, etc.

Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality – The DEQ oversees the management of Wyoming’s natural environment, including water quality.

Wyoming State Engineer’s Office –  Charged with the regulation and administration of the water resources in Wyoming.  They issue permits for water use for oil drilling.

Laramie County Planning and Development Office, Oil and Gas Page – Has information on permitting requirements, public meetings, and a map showing the locations of approved permits in Laramie County.

Petroleum Association of Wyoming – Monitors and responds to issues of public lands, exploration, production, transportation, coal bed methane, environment, taxation, legislation and legal matters for the oil and gas industry.

High Plains Economic Development, Energy Page – A voluntary organization of member local governments, economic development organizations, and private sector representatives working together to improve the economy and quality of life in our communities and all of southeast Wyoming. Helps coordinate economic development issues for the area.

Laramie County Conservation District -  Provides Laramie County citizens with the necessary information and technical assistance to support sustainable production from soil and water resources, protect the county’s tax base, control flooding, improve air and water quality, increase wildlife habitat, and protect and promote the health and safety of Laramie County residents.

 Energy In Depth - Energy In Depth (EID) is a research, education and public outreach campaign focused on getting the facts out about the promise and potential of responsibly developing America’s onshore energy resource base.  This website is particularly helpful at educating the public about hydraulic fracturing.
